The Strange and Irreverent Travels...
This fall Beth wanted a new direction for the Green Ink commercials, something closer to a social media/instagram effect. Working off of her layout we created an advertisement that feels like a photo tear sheet or magazine composite. I’ve been rather consumed by my day job and hope to be a bit more communicative about projects, art and so forth as we head into the fall!
Eight dogs, three strobes, six costumes, four people and no ambient light; just another Perfect Pooch photo session! In preparation for our Halloween photo shoot on October 24th, Chris, myself, my friend Jess and one of her friends descended upon an East Greenwich cemetery for some late night photos. Trying to control eight dogs, light a scene and focus in complete darkness? Not an easy task. Thankfully we’ll be set up at Perfect Pooch with a Halloween themed side yard filled with ghouls and ghosts where its much more controllable! Dress up your pet, your kid, yourself and come on down to Main Street, East Greenwich on Saturday, October 24th to get some spooky photography done!
So back in the early months of this year I had a wonderful write up on Offbeat Bride by the bride in a fall wedding I shot last year. Julianne wrote a beautiful article and punctuated it with my photos.
And I thought that was that. A lovely piece documenting a great wedding. Then last week I got an email from Buzzfeed requesting the right to publish my images on their blog/facebook/instagram. Which is kind of awesome. Even just a single image in that sort of pop culture social click behemoth that is Buzzfeed is pretty damn cool.
So thank you Julianne for your kind words and sharing your special day with me last fall!
Long exposures at Beavertail at the end of the summer. A recent acquisition of a 10 stop neutral density filter led to thirty second experiments as the sun went down. Armed with that and a color grad neutral density filter, I think I’m ready for the fall.
After shooting the fall videos for Green Ink Boutique, Becca and I took to the historic streets of Wickford village to create some fall looks.
This past Saturday I had a lovely time photographing the four legged clientele at Perfect Pooch’s grand opening!
We will be continuing this for special events and holidays starting June 25th where we will have patriotic themed shots for July 4th as well as catering to the Dogs on Main Stroll in East Greenwich.
I’m hoping this continues beyond a special event/holiday engagement and with enough interest we can do this on a more regular basis (its fun playing with the dogs…).
And perhaps once the interest is established we’ll start doing location based shoots at people’s homes, parks, etc.
And of course you should stop by Perfect Pooch for all your dog care needs from grooming to training. Kerri and Chris are doing a fantastic job and are ready to establish themselves as the preeminent dog care provider in South County!
